The Naeve Hospital Alumni and Nurses’ Club announces seven scholarships available to area graduating seniors or those who have successfully completed one year of education in an RN program. Scholarships to be awarded are: Ermily Wetzstein Memorial of $1,000, Dwayne Kapplinger Memorial of $1,000, Shandy Jenson Rollins Memorial of $1,000, Tillie Richter Memorial of $1,000, Evelyn Stadheim Memorial of $1,000, Jan Olson Memorial of $1,000 and Sandy Jensen Rollins Memorial of $1,000.

Graduating seniors from Albert Lea, Alden-Conger, Glenville-Emmons, Lake Mills, Iowa, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, United South Central and Northwood-Kensett, Iowa, high schools are eligible, as well as those persons who have successfully completed one year of education in an RN program.

Children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Naeve Hospital School of Nursing Alumni will be given first consideration. All scholarship applications must be received by April 5.

Applications can be obtained from high school counselors or from the principal’s office.

Factors to be considered by the scholarship committee are scholarship, service, community involvement and demonstrated leadership of the applicant.

These scholarships will be awarded at the club’s annual luncheon on May 7. Recipients will be expected to attend this luncheon.

Every effort is made to make the selection as bias-free as possible. All identifying information is blacked out before consideration by the scholarship committee.
