Norma Elmer, 86, Wells

Norma M. Elmer, 86, of Wells, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, her home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Wells. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. The Rev. Paul Woolverton will officiate and a burial will take place in Rosehill, Wells, Faribault County, Minnesota.

Norma M. Elmer was born the daughter of Percy and Elfie (Littlefield) Nichols. She was a 1942 graduate of Wells High School and worked in the office at Delmonte for 34 years. She enjoyed needlework, knitting, reading and word searches. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Norma is survived by two sons: William (Peg) Elmer of Puyallup, Wash., and David (Jan) Elmer of Wells; one daughter, Sharon (Dale) Lacher of Wells; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Mike) Miller, Kristine (Stephen) Riggs, Mark (Michelle) Lacher, Craig (Katie) Lacher, Tom Elmer and Chad (Katie) Elmer; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by brothers: Gerald (Beulah) Nichols of Princeton and Ted Nichols of New Jersey; sister, Mary Ann (Al) Schultz, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; brother-in-law, Robert (Laura) Elmer of Wells, and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and brothers: Floyd, Vern and Bruce Nichols.
