Carlie Wagner scored 26 points and Anna Schlaak had nine points and 12 rebounds Tuesday as the New-Richland-Hartland-Ellendale girls’ basketball team beat the Blooming Prairie Blossoms 73-38.
“Our half court pressure and fast break were working,” Panthers head coach John Schultz said. “Wagner was on the receiving end of a lot of team effort to fast break.”
The Panthers (16-3, 11-1 Gopher) led 41-18 at halftime and held the Blossoms (9-9, 7-4) to 20 points in the second half.
“We did a nice job defensively not giving the Blossoms many looks at the basket,” Schultz said. “I’m proud of how the girls went out there and improved on their game and gave a good effort despite our last outing.”
Jade Schultz chipped in seven points and seven rebounds for the Panthers.
The Panthers play again at 6 p.m. Friday at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (6-10, 5-6).
