Here are highlights in history for Feb. 10, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — After considering pairing options with Glenville or Lake Mills, Iowa, the Emmons Board of Education decided to join up with the Glenville district.
1980 — Albert Lea’s City Council was considering plans to demolish the former city hall on North Broadway Avenue as part of a redevelopment project, or preserve the building because of its historical significance. (Note: The second option prevailed.)
1950 — Freeborn County farmers were told to cut corn production to 95,756 bushels. In 1949 county production of corn was 125,300 bushels.
