One of the two young men found in Albert Lea earlier this month with property stolen from multiple vehicles in Rochester has pleaded guilty to one of his charges as part of a plea agreement.
Jordan Scott Hoffmann, 18, of Rochester, pleaded guilty on Friday to one felony count of receiving stolen property with a value between $1,000 and $5,000.
One felony count of receiving stolen property involving a handgun has been dismissed.
His public defender, Stephen Erickson, and the Freeborn County Attorney’s Office are recommending that Hoffmann’s jail time be limited to the time he has served in jail since he was arrested Jan. 10.
His sentencing has been scheduled for 2:30 p.m. May 9.
According to court documents, police found multiple items, including a .45-caliber handgun, numerous iPods, GPS devices, DVD players, knives, car chargers, a camera and a projector, among others, in the car that Hoffmann was said to be driving.
The items were reportedly stolen from vehicles parked near the Chateau Theater in Rochester.
Co-defendant Shane Lawrence Williams, 19, also of Rochester, faces the same charges. Williams was one of four other people found in the car when police stopped it in the parking lot of a strip mall near Walmart.
Williams, also of Rochester, has pleaded not guilty to his charges and has requested a jury trial.
