Rosamond Miller, 92, Wells

Rosamond I. Miller, 92, of Wells, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at her home in Wells. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Wells. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The Rev. Paul Woolverton will officiate and burial will take place in Dunbar Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting with arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the United Hands Hospice or to the Wells Food Shelf.

Miller

Rosamond was born July 2, 1918, the daughter of Andrew and Selma (Hermanson) Jensen in Wells where she spent her entire life. She graduated from Wells High School in 1936 and the Teacher Training Department in 1937, and then taught four years in rural schools. On Dec. 27, 1940, she married Sherman Miller at the Wells Methodist Episcopal Church.They farmed north of Wells on a farm that was recognized as a Century Farm in 1976.

She enjoyed golf, her bridge clubs, crossword puzzles and reading. Most of all she loved and enjoyed her family. Choir time with her church family was a delight and she served as organist for 25 years and assistant organist for 15 years.

Rosamond is survived by sons: Dave (Veronica) Miller of St. Louis Park, Michael (Mary) Miller of Mesa, Ariz., and Jeff (Nancy) Miller of St. Peter; sister, Carol (Sam) Mast of Mason City, Iowa; grandchildren: Anne Miller (Tim Aune), Jennifer (Joe) Finnegan, Sarah (Chris) Peterson, Alan (Amber) Miller, Paul (Beth) Miller, John Miller, Rachel Miller, Liz (Devin) Bloss, Joseph, Andrew and Mark Miller. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and best friend, Sherman in 2005; brother, Donald (Doc) Jensen; and sisters: Eleanor Musser and Ila Hinkels.
