You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
You can help build your bones: Stronger bones, better balance and more ease for turning your head while driving are significant in our extra snowy winter. Participate in a Bone Builders group twice a week and help yourself to these life benefits. Call RSVP at 377-7433 and ask for the schedule. Choose from these Bone Builder sites in Albert Lea and Freeborn County: Ascension Lutheran Church, Bancroft Creek Estates, Grace Lutheran Church, Senior Center, Senior Court, The Village Coop., Alden City Hall, Clarks Grove Baptist Church, Emmons Legion, Freeborn Legion, Glenville City Hall and Hayward Lutheran Church.
Daffodil Days: American Cancer Society will be selling daffodils to raise money for cancer research on March 7 and 11. If you can take a two-hour shift at a bank or store, call to schedule. Sellers sit at a table and offer flowers to passersby. If you can’t help sell, be sure you plan to buy a bunch of daffodils.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
