The following are some of the active volunteer opportunities in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of these or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.

Boy Scouts of America: Right here in Albert Lea and Freeborn County, boys in afterschool programs are hoping you can be a leader for them in a scout group. Scouting leaders receive training and work with area mentors and have access to the weekly programs through the Scouts’ website. You can contact Paula Nuessmeier at 507-520-11055 or to get started. Summer activities are coming soon.

Pelican Breeze: The Pelican Breeze Foundation is seeking interested people to work as first mates and captains on the Pelican Breeze II. We are also looking for volunteers to help with additional duties/operation of the boat’s scenic tours. For more information call 373-9084.
