Police Chief Brian Krueger said Rochester Police received a tip regarding Deng’s whereabouts and found him walking around in Rochester shortly after. He was arrested without incident, Krueger said.

Two other men possibly related to the shooting incident were arrested Tuesday afternoon. Kevin Michael Lyke, 20, and Ojulu Oban Onyongo, 20, are being held in the Mower County jail. Police Chief Brian Krueger said they will likely appear in court Thursday. Both men have recent addresses in Austin.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Krueger would not comment on which of the men police believe is the shooter. He also would not comment on what role police thought each of the men may have played in the shooting.

Police are still investigating the connection between the shooting and a burglary that happened Feb. 27 when four men entered a home demanding money and marijuana. However, Krueger said police are not searching for a fourth man in connection with the shooting.

“We are still trying to piece those together and see if they’re intertwined or if they’re related,” Krueger said.

Krueger said detectives have not had the chance to interview the victim of the shooting yet, as he is still recovering in the hospital. His condition is unknown, but Krueger said Tuesday morning that he is “resting comfortably.”

The 28-year-old man was shot in the upper leg Monday night when a masked man entered his apartment at 200 First St. SE demanding money.
