The 30-year-old New Richland man found in a ditch Wednesday up to several hours after he crashed his vehicle has been upgraded to fair condition, a St. Marys Hospital spokeswoman said Thursday morning.

Trever David Swenson is recovering at the hospital.

Swenson was reportedly traveling west on Freeborn County Road 35 about a half mile east of County Road 24 when he crossed over the center line, went into the south ditch and rolled at least once.

He was found right before 8 a.m. Wednesday by a passing motorist, but the crash is believed to have happened sometime after midnight the same day.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
