Flood forecast could be worse for St. Paul

ST. PAUL (AP) — The Mississippi River doesn’t hit major flood stage in St. Paul in the new seven-day forecast from the National Weather Service office in Chanhassen, but it is predicted to rise.
The weather service is forecasting that the river will reach flood stage of 14 feet on Thursday and 15.1 feet by next Friday. Major flooding occurs when the level hits 17 feet.
The forecast released does not show when, or how high, the river will crest in St. Paul. It is now at about 5 feet.
