Governor accepting applications for vacant judge seat

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton on Tuesday officially announced a judicial vacancy in Minnesota’s Third Judicial District Court, a position which serves Freeborn County.

The announcement comes after Freeborn County District Court Judge John A. Chesterman retired in January.

According to a news release, applications are now being accepted for the position.

Dayton stated in the release he will make his appointment based on the following qualities: integrity, maturity, health, judicial temperament, legal knowledge, ability, experience and community service.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St. Paul MN 55155, or by contacting Tiffany Orth, appointments coordinator, via e-mail at tiffany.orth@state.mn.us.

The application deadline is Friday, March 25.
