MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Spring practice has begun for the Minnesota football team, and the Gophers have a lot of work to do.
That includes the quarterback position, where MarQueis Gray has taken over for Adam Weber. Gray might be the most talented player on the team, a prized recruit who came to the program three years ago under coach Tim Brewster. But the job hasn’t been promised to him, and new coach Jerry Kill says playing wide receiver the past two seasons has hindered Gray’s progress.
Kill says he “will not give away playing time.”
