Injured boy goes home

A 12-year-old boy injured on Sunday after a snowmobile he was driving hit a drainage ditch was recovering at home Monday.

According to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Walker Stadheim was driving a snowmobile in a ditch near 750th Avenue and 270th Street when he hit a drainage ditch at 2:46 p.m. Sunday.

The Clarks Grove Fire Department and first responders, along with the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, were called to the scene. Stadheim had a large cut on his left leg and was transported by ambulance to the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was then treated and transferred to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

His mother said he got stitches and was sent home.

“He’s going to be fine,” she said.

Three injured on I-35

Three people were injured Monday afternoon after a rollover on Interstate 35 one mile north of the Northwood, Iowa, exit.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Gilbert George Fletcher, 63, of Savage, Carol Lann Fletcher, 63, of Savage, and Kayla Brown, 12, of Shakopee, were transported by Lake Mills Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa, after the crash.

The report states Gilbert Fletcher was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy southbound on I-35, when he passed a semi, caught the inside shoulder of the median, overcorrected and then lost control. The automobile went into the west ditch and rolled.

Carol Fletcher and Brown were passengers.

The incident reportedly took place at 12:13 p.m. Monday at mile 215 of southbound I-35.

The report states Gilbert Fletcher was cited for failure to maintain control.

Four-car crash reported

A four-car crash was reported at 3:46 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Bridge Avenue and East Hawthorne Street. No injuries were reported.

According to police, the driver of the back car was talking to her passenger when she hit the car in front of her. In turn, that car hit a third car, and the third car hit a fourth car.

None of the vehicles were towed.

Police respond to alleged fight

Police responded to a call of a fight near the intersection of Frank Hall Drive and East Fourth Street at 12:22 a.m. today. According to reports, police cited Michael Aaron Holland, 20, for illegal consumption, Eric Martin Barnes, 20, for illegal consumption, Matthew William Blanchfied, 28, for driving after suspension and Robert Lugo Jr., 23, for criminal damage to property.

Truck hit by snowmobile

A black Dodge Ram truck at 401 Lakeview Boulevard was reportedly hit by a snowmobile and damaged between 3:10 and 3:15 a.m. today, according to police reports. Reports state the snowmobile that hit the truck is believed to have been blue and black. It was unable to be found.

House reported damaged

A house at 70820 200th Street was reported damaged sometime overnight on Sunday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. The incident was reported at 9:42 a.m. Monday.
