Lenten recitals at United Methodist Church starts March 31

The United Methodist Church will again host Lenten Recitals this year. There will be three recitals on Thursdays beginning March 31. Gail Thurnau will be the guest organist on March 31. Thurnau is the organist at Christ Epsicopal Church and Ascension Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She also accompanies The Albert Lea Cantori. Joining Thurnau will be Matthew Stoneking, bass soloist from Albert Lea.
Jeff Daehn will be playing on April 7. Daehn, the carillonneur of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester can be heard playing the carillon many days of the week. The Mayo carillon is one of three in the state of Minnesota and one of the largest in the U.S. Daehn is also a freelance organist. Robert Tewes will conclude the recitals on April 14. Tewes is the director of music at Grace Lutheran Church. He is also a published composer.
All recitals are from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Soup and coffee are available in the Fireside Room of the church from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Everyone is encouraged to bring a sandwich.
All offerings received following the recitals will go toward the expenses of the recitals and the Organ Voicing Phase II project. All are welcome.
