Albert Lea needed this new pavilion. In fact, its people deserved this. After having to live near a dump that went unregulated by the state, the people of Albert Lea now get a cleaned-up north side of Edgewater Park and, with it, a pavilion, all paid for rightfully with state bonding money. No matter how you stand on local politics, you have to applaud city and state officials for having the vision to clean up the location and bring to the people a facility that will be a big part of the fabric of many lives, from events as big as weddings to ones as casual as workplace picnics.
