We were pleased to witness Mike Lee and Tony Pestorious run friendly campaigns. In their campaigns, they were willing to talk about their opponents and describe differences — without either one feeling like those descriptions were some sort of personal attack. In any campaign, candidates can, will and should talk about each other, but it is good when all sides understand that debate just part of the process. That’s called civility. Lee won, but we feel both Lee and Pestorious would have made worthy county commissioners. In the end, the voters of the 5th Commissioner District came out ahead. They had two really good choices.
