Each week in Jessica Bremer’s art class seventh- and eighth-grade students are chosen as Student of the Week. The students are selected based on how ready they are for class, if they’re respectful and if they’re responsible. Each Friday the students are chosen and their names are displayed on a bulletin board. The students are also given an award, five points extra credit and a Southwest Middle School pencil.
For the week of Feb. 4, seventh-graders Madison Newton and Lucas Hacker were chosen. Eighth-grader Luke Sunblad was chosen.
For the week of Feb. 11, seventh-graders Maryah Dulaney-Hernandez and Emma Boyenga were chosen. Eighth-grader Emily Solum was chosen.
For the week of Feb. 18, seventh-graders Tyler O’Rourke and Denaey Castillo were chosen. Eighth-grader Amanda Vandenheuvel was chosen.
For the week of Feb. 25, seventh-graders Owen Stuart and Anna Anderson were chosen. Eighth-grader Kassi Hardies was chosen.
