Two injured in car crash in Albert Lea

Two people were transported to the Albert Lea Medical Center after a two-car crash on Saturday.
According to Albert Lea Police Lt. Jeff Strom, the crash occurred at 11:23 a.m. along U.S. Highway 69 and West Main Street in Albert Lea.
Larry George Reinlasoder, 71 of Walters, was driving a 1998 Chevy Silverado truck. As he approached the intersection of West Main, his car was hit by a 2005 Dodge Caravan. The Caravan, driven by Neil Richard Chalmers, 40 of Albert Lea, was driving eastbound on Main Street.
Chalmers and one passenger, Abigail Chalmers, 7, were transported to the Albert Lea Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of possible injuries. It was unknown as of press time how severe the injuries were.
Neil Chalmers is a teacher at Southwest Middle School.
Fight at Legion
Albert Lea police responded to a call at 12:02 a.m. Sunday of two people fighting inside the Leo Carey American Legion Post 56.
According to police reports, Nicholas John Boie Thompson, 23 of Owatonna, was cited for disorderly conduct and fifth-degree assault. Albert Lea Police Lt. Jeff Strom said Thompson was arrested on a Steele County warrant for fleeing in a motor vehicle.
Shoplifter cited
According to Albert Lea police reports, Gretchen Pearl Hulleman, 63 of Kiester, was cited for shoplifting at 4:22 p.m. Friday at Walmart.
