USC’s center averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds this year

United South Central junior Kyle Bauman was named Wednesday to the Minnesota Associated Press All-State Boys’ Basketball Team as an honorable mention.

This was the second consecutive season the 6-foot-8-inch center has been named honorable mention.

Bauman led USC to a 16-10 record this season and third-place finish in the Gopher Conference. He averaged 18.1 points and 12.3 rebounds per game and was named Gopher All-Conference.

Bauman scored his 1,000th point this season and scored a career-high 32 points against Minnesota Valley Lutheran on March 1.

Bauman missed seven games this season due to illness but when healthy had major impact on his team.

“He had some real nice ball games for us,” USC coach Rob Stevermer said. “Coming down the stretch he hit his peak. Unfortunately, the season was nearly over. He felt he left a little bit on the table.”
