The Albert Lea City Council approved a 1.25 percent increase for police, and it will pay all the extra cost of insurance for them. So how much is this in dollars? Is it an effective 60 cent per hour raise or is it a $2.60 per hour raise. We have no way of knowing and that appears to be the way the City Council wants it to stay. Percentage wage increased tend to inflate wages especially at higher wage classes. Ask your councilman if he knows the effective per hour increase.
