Memorial services for Barbara Ann Zimmerman, 67, of Hollandale will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hollandale Reformed Church. The Rev. Neal Ooms will officiate. Interment will be at the Hollandale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. To sign the guest book, go to www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Barbara died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at her home.

Barbara Ann Zimmerman was born on Sept. 28, 1943, to Harry and Florence (Olson) Heldt in Eagle Bend. She grew up in Eagle Bend and graduated from Eagle Bend High School after which she attended Wadena Technical College. On Aug. 25, 1962, Barbara was united in marriage to Rodney Zimmerman in Eagle Bend. The couple lived in Pipestone for three years, then moved to the metro area for seven years, settling in the Albert Lea area in 1972. Barbara was an active member of the Hollandale Reformed Church and enjoyed working with the Helping Hands program at the church. She also volunteered on the Senior Citizen’s committee for monthly luncheons. Barbara enjoyed helping with the family horses and watching at the shows and races. She liked doing embroidery, reading and caring for her dogs, but especially loved the time spent with her family and attending her grandson’s activities. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, Rodney; daughters: Mindy Kruger and Beth Zimmerman and fiancé, Todd Radke; grandson, Marc Kruger; sisters: Emma Otterson and Dru Hinzmann; brother, Howard (Sandy) Heldt; sister-in-law, Joyce Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law: Dumas Otterson, Leonard Zimmerman and Jim Hinzmann; and brother, Harold Juday.

Memorials are preferred to Freeborn County Relay for Life/American Cancer Society.
