April showers aren’t making life easy for local athletic directors as rain on Thursday again forced the postponement of many area sporting events.

The girls’ golf triangular hosted by Albert Lea at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club scheduled for Thursday was postponed until 2:30 p.m. today. The Albert Lea baseball team’s game against Winona was also pushed back a day and will be played at 5 p.m. today in Winona.

New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva postponed Thursday’s baseball and softball games to today. Both teams play at 5 p.m. at Waterville-Elysian-Morristown.

This was the second time this week that rain has forced the postponement of events. On Tuesday, all events from Albert Lea, NRHEG, United South Central, Alden-Conger and Glenville-Emmons schools were postponed — many to Thursday.

There’s little chance the trend will continue today, though. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of 64 and breezy.
