ST. PAUL — A bill to raise taxpayer funding for a new Minnesota Vikings stadium is ready to go at the Capitol.
A copy of the Senate bill’s text went online Friday afternoon. It will be officially introduced on Monday.
The bill aims to raise up to $300 million through a variety of revenue streams including a sales tax on memorabilia and luxury seats, as well as naming rights and a lottery game. It does not specify where the replacement to the Metrodome will be located.
Lead Senate sponsor Sen. Julie Rosen says Friday that she’ll be glad to have a bill in the public arena to be discussed and debated. Rosen says the remaining month and a half left in the session is enough time to pass it.
