NEW RICHLAND — Starting freshman pitcher Jade Schultz struck out 12 batters here Thursday and had two RBIs as the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers softball team beat Medford 10-0.

“It was a good team win,” Panthers coach Wendy Schultz said. “Our two leadoff batters (Harlee Vokoun and Tori Raimann) hit well today going 5-for-6 with a combination of eight stolen bases.”

The Panthers (2-0, 1-0 Gopher) stole 11 bases as a team and play again at 5 p.m. Monday against Randolph in New Richland.
