The roadway still floods, but the new holding ponds along East Main Street seem to be doing their job of retaining water in the lowlands between the lakes. And they have attracted some wildlife, too. If you ever want a good look at geese or ducks, just cruise slowly down East College Street, that gravel road that runs along the railroad tracks.
