St. John’s Auxiliary

St. John’s Auxiliary met at 2 p.m. March 21 in St. John’s Chapel. President Carol Rask welcomed everyone. Devotions were given by the Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister. Becky Nordland led the group in singing “My Country Tis of Thee” and “Breathe on Me, Breath of God.”
Auxiliary Secretary Bonnie Schneider read the minutes of the January meeting. The February meeting was canceled because of bad weather. Treasurer Lorraine Schuper gave the treasurer’s report. Reports were approved.
Volunteer Coordinator Carla Reichel reported that 531 hours were reported for February. Day care had 28 hours, there were three You and Me Clubs and three sing alongs.
Sue Barnes reported on activities for the residents: A St. Patrick’s Day party was held on March 17. Upcoming events for April are: LA Sass, Dancing Hearts, attending the Albert Lea High School play, Dave Hudson, Richard Vee, volunteer banquet, talent show and Kent Larson. The Freeborn County Dancing with the Stars participants visited in March and were enjoyed by the residents.
Churches were thanked for serving Sunday Coffee: for February: First Lutheran of Glenville, Salem and Central Freeborn; for March: Trinity, Church of Christ Christian, Cross of Glory Hartland and West Freeborn Lutheran.
The program was provided by Emmons Lutheran. JoAnn Peterson gave a few Holy Humor readings. A skit entitled “What is Lent About” was given by Ann Thompson, Shirley Olson, Marge Brackey and Joy Behr.
The meeting was closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
Refreshments were provided by St. John’s Dietary Department.
