United We Dance

The Albert Lea Just For Kix Studio recently competed at two separate United We Dance competitions. Teams are judged on difficulty of skills, kick or jazz technique, precision, timing and presentation. On March 6, dancers traveled to Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Teams that placed included a second-place award for the Middle Kix (sixth grade), second place for the Senior Kix (grades 8-12), first place for the Mini Jazz (grades 4-6) and first place for the Junior Jazz (grades 7-12). On April 9, dancers competed in Rochester and earned five awards including third place for Mini Kix (fourth grade), fourth place for Mini Kix (fifth grade), third place for Middle Kix (seventh grade), second place for Mini Jazz (grades 4-7) and first place for Junior Jazz. The Just for Kix Studio will hold their spring show on May 7. Shows are at 1 and 3:30 p.m. and held in the Albert Lea High School gym. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students.
