You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with these or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
Museum Tour Guide: Freeborn County Historical Museum needs morning and afternoon guides for the school tours beginning in early May. Call the museum at 373-8003, or sign up for the orientation at 1:30 p.m. April 27 and reserve your museum and historical village tour guide materials.
Intergenerational Garden: Let’s make spring lively and lovely together. Help children at The Children’s Center to plant their flower garden. Adult volunteers come one morning late in May and help each child plant one or two petunias and then water them. You can help a child learn how flowers grow.
Red Power Round-Up: June 2011 is coming closer — are you ready for the Round-Up? As a ticket booth volunteer for the Red Power Round-Up, you’ll meet folks saluting the historical lines of International Harvester, the Red Power equipment. We anticipate serving 10,000 people daily. Call for Pat at Senior Resources 377-7433, to get the details and sign up for the ticket booth schedule that suits you best during the Round-Up, June 21-25. Orientation will be June 15-16.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
