Kral throws 2nd no-hitter

GLENVILLE — Spencer Kral threw his second no-hitter of the season Thursday and the Glenville-Emmons baseball team beat the Schaeffer Academy Lions 14-0 in five innings in Glenville.

Kral struck out 14 batters and walked none through five innings. He allowed only one baserunner after he struck out a batter but the catcher failed to catch the third strike. Kral also threw a no-hitter in a 19-0 win over Alden-Conger on April 21.

Every Wolverines (7-4, 4-1 Southeast) batter recorded a hit and six batters notched two or more.

Trent Thoms led the Wolverines’ offense, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, three RBIs and a double. Designated hitter Cameron Iverson also had three RBIs, and Levi Garner had two triples.

“I was pleased with how we hit the ball today,” Wolverines coach Louie Toulouse said. “It was an all around good game.

The Wolverines have now won two straight after falling to Hope Lutheran 7-6 on Monday and play again tonight against Maranatha Christian (4-5) in Brooklyn Park.
