Stuart

Lois died at her home on Friday, April 29, 2011. She was 76.

She was born on Aug. 8,1934, in Fairmont, the daughter of William J. and Matilda “Minnie” (Fauch) Meyer. She married Gary K. Sjogren in 1953; he preceded Lois in death. She married Cecil Stuart on June 2, 1967. He also preceded her in death. An Albert Lea resident since 1961, Lois had worked for Boyd and Jacks, Birdseye in Waseca, Lea Budget Motel, Shopko, Countryside Motel, Days Inn, and retired from Holiday Inn Express after serving as a housekeeper there for three years.

She enjoyed playing cards (Canasta) and gambling with her sister Carolyn. She was a “Pirates of the Caribbean” fan as well as QVC. Her many trips, which included Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Branson, Black Hills and Disney World were precious memories for her. Her pet companions, most recently Madi, were a very important part of her life. Her most treasured time was when she had the opportunity to babysit her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: two daughters: Monica Christenson and special friend, Vic, of Albert Lea and Carla Garmann of Owatonna; son, Michael (Kerri) Sjogren, of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Travis Hanson, Kevin Christenson, Casie (Mark) Attig, Courtney Garmann, Kendra Sjogren and K-Lynn Sjogren; two great-grandchildren: Ava and Presley Attig; sister, Carolyn Meyer, of Edina; brother, Robert (Dolly) Meyer, of North Mankato; three nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mathilda “Minnie” Meyer; her husbands: Gary Sjogren and Cecil Stuart; and her son, Charles, in 1992; grandson, Shawn Thomas Christenson; and son, Mark Stuart.

She will be greatly missed by all.
