Art on Broadway at the Albert Lea Art Center are presenting Billy Cho as their featured artist for the month of June. Cho, originally from Hong Kong, came to America for one year as an exchange student at Washington State. After finishing high school in Hong Kong, Cho returned to the United States to attend college at Iowa Central Community College. Although he had no plans to study art, Cho fell in love with working in ceramics at Iowa Central, and
later transferred to Northwest Missouri State University to attain his bachelor degree in art with an emphasis in ceramics. Upon his graduation from Missouri State, Cho returned to Webster City, Iowa, to work at the studio of his former professor, Maureen Seamond, where he now creates his beautiful ceramic art pieces.
The public is invited to attend an artist’s reception for Cho at the art center on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Following the reception, Cho’s ceramic art will be for sale at Art on Broadway through June 30.
