AUSTIN — Many members of varsity shot their season-low Friday as the Albert Lea girls’ golf team won a triangular at the Austin Country Club.

The Tigers team shot a season-low 385 and finished ahead of Austin (401) and Rochester Century (419).

“We played a really solid meet today and everyone had one of their best rounds of the year,” Tigers coach Shawn Riebe said.

Megan Pulley shot her best round of the season with an 83, and Makenna Friehl shot 100.

“The rest of the team also showed some depth with the varsity and junior varsity players all putting together nice rounds for us,” Riebe said. “The girls all stated, ‘I could have shot a lot better today, too,’” Riebe said.

Morgan Field and Chelsey Battle rounded out the Tigers’ scorers with 101s, and Mady Dahl shot 103 and Morgan Field 110.

“I am really proud of the girls for picking themselves up after some tough rounds the last couple of weeks,” Riebe said. “I really hope this translates into continued confidence in playing to the potential I know they have had all season and just needed to find.”
