You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.

Our Troops — Our Pride: Let’s show our National Guard members that we here in Freeborn County are proud of them by standing tall at the Memorial Day parade tomorrow, May 30. Come help line the whole parade route in Albert Lea to show our pride in their commitment and our care for their families. This unit deploys on Tuesday, May 31, with a special ceremony so this is the time for us to be present for them, the National Guard members, their families and all military personnel.

Seeking Outstanding Senior Citizen 2011: You can help celebrate super volunteering by a woman or a man over age 70 who has been giving back in their Minnesota county since turning 65 years old. Nominations are available at the Senior Resources Offices in Albert Lea or call Roger Lunning at 507-391-0345 for more details. Be sure to get your nomination turned in by June 24!
