The 27-year-old Blooming Prairie man who fell off a ladder Monday outside a home in Albert Lea died at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester on Tuesday evening, according to hospital spokeswoman.

Derek Lee Johnson, who was employed through a painting contractor, was doing work at 72408 Grey Fawn Drive in Indian Hills.

Johnson was reportedly 20 feet above the ground when the ladder buckled and he fell.

Johnson’s funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 4 to 8 p.m.
