Rollin Halverson, 85, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Rollin Lemoine Halverson, age 85, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be at the Round Prairie Cemetery with military honors accorded by Freeborn County area veterans’ organizations. Rollin Halverson

Rollin died Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Rollin Lemoine Halverson was born on May 20, 1926, to Henry and Mabel (Knutson) Halverson in Albert Lea. He grew up in rural Glenville and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1944. After school Rollin served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict from 1952-53. Returning from service, Rollin continued to farm as before he entered the service. He was a member of Round Prairie Lutheran Church and a life member of the VFW. Rollin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Blessed be his memory.

Survivors include his sisters Elaine Bjerke and Betty (Philip) Callahan, both of Albert Lea; niece Mary Callahan, of Apple Valley, and nephew Bradley Bjerke, of Albert Lea.

Rollin was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Byron Bjerke.
