Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Winona is expanding services in Albert Lea. The office at 311 E. Clark St, which is attached to St. Theodore’s Church, will now be staffed two days a week. Paul Bartemes, a licensed independent clinical social worker is now scheduling appointments. Bartemes, who has 15 years of experience with individual family and couples counseling, will schedule appointments within five days. Bartemes has worked extensively with couples over the past five years and believes that relationships can be healed by teaching couples conflict resolution and communication skills.

“Many times couples don’t know why they constantly find themselves in the same arguments about an issue they can not resolve,” Bartemes said. “They need someone to help break down defenses and open them up to the forgotten possibilities that exist within their relationship.”
