The announcement comes as Dayton delivered a video message on his YouTube page, outlining what he’s standing up for with the state budget and what’s at stake for the state in the midst of a government shutdown.

Minnesotans are in the middle of their second week under a shutdown, after Dayton and Republican legislative leaders have been unable to reach a solution about the state’s budget.

A news release from the Governor’s Office on Monday stated Dayton tried to find compromise and resolve the budget problem by sending Republican legislative leaders another offer to meet together.

His discussions around the state this week will focus on the services that would be directly impacted by cuts proposed in the Republican’s budget.
