Milwaukee Road stop

Members of the Milwaukee Road Historical Society from 20 states, mostly Midwest and West, eat lunch in Wells on June 8 during a visit to the restored Wells Depot, which used to be a Milwaukee Road stop. The members journeyed via automobiles from Austin to Fairmont, then stopped in Wells on the way back during a four-day convention in Austin. Weather and construction on the railroad prevented travel by train. -- Jim Ramaker/for the Tribune
