David and Colleen Owens and Craig and Pam Peterson, all of Albert Lea, announce the engagement of their children, Melissa Owens and Joshua Peterson. Grandparents of Melissa are Bruce and Jan Owens, of Albert Lea. Grandparents of Joshua are Frank and Ronna Belshan, of Myrtle.

Melissa is a 2007 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a 2010 graduate of Riverland Community College. She is employed at Albert Lea Seed House.

Joshua is a 2003 graduate of Albert Lea High School. He is employed at Master Plumbing.

A Dec. 31, 2011, wedding is planned in Albert Lea.
