A 25-year-old Amboy man nearly drowned Saturday after he dove into a pond at Woods Lake Park near Elmore.

According to a Faribault County Sheriff’s Office news release, authorities responded to a report at 7:09 p.m. Saturday of a man drowning in the pond.

The report stated the man, Jaydee Ewalt, dived into the water and become unresponsive.

He was pulled from the water by an emergency medical technician from Crosslake, who is training to become a paramedic.

The release states Ewalt was resuscitated at the scene and was tranported by ambulance to the Blue Earth airport, where he was picked up by Mayo One helicopter and then transported to Rochester.

The Elmore Police Department, Faribault County Sheriff’s Office and the Blue Earth United Hospital Ambulance assisted at the scene.
