Marlys Henriksen, 73, Duluth

Marlys JoAnn (Christianson) Henriksen, 73, was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Albert Lea. She spent World War II years in Washington state. She went to high school in Albert Lea, moved to Minneapolis and graduated from Vocational High School in Minneapolis.

She married Eugene C. Henriksen of Albert Lea May 5, 1956. They lived for 40 years in Coon Rapids. She retired to Sturgeon Lake then Cloquet. They were members of Peace Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids for 35 years.

She is preceded in death by parents Hjalmar and Olive Christianson, of Albert Lea; daughter, Cheryl Henriksen, of Coon Rapids; and sister Lois Braasch, of Rochester.

Marlys passed away Aug. 12, 2011, in Duluth, after illness.

Marlys and her husband enjoyed traveling and did so for many years. Marlys was employed by Coon Rapids Plastics for 25 years.

Survived by husband, Eugene; children: David Henriksen of Tennessee, Michael Henriksen of Ramsey and Robbin Mcdaniel of Coon Rapids; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids. Visitation will be one hour prior. Internment at Morningside Memorial Gardens.
