Vietnam Veterans of America is inviting all veterans of all eras of service to a free all veterans BBQ picnic at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at Swensrud Park in Northwood, Iowa, to honor servicemen from around the region.

Sponsoring the picnic is the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 790, comprised of veterans from all branches of service living in Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota. Chapter members will host this 8th annual BBQ at Swensrud Park with serving to start at 1 p.m.

New feature this year is the antique steam tractor cooking up the fresh sweet corn. Other great entertainment is Brad Grotewold from Lake Mills, Iowa, treating veterans to patriotic songs as well as songs just for fun. Also there will be raffles and door prize give aways. All family members and guests of veterans are encouraged to attend.
