Church Women United will be hosting the “Human Rights Celebration” at Ascension Lutheran Church on Friday, Sept. 2.

Refreshments and coffee will be served at 9:15 a.m. with a program to follow soon after.

The speaker will be Mary Laeger-Hagemeister.

She will share pieces of her dissertation on immigration in rural communities as well as provide an update on what is happening in Albert Lea through the Human Rights Commission and the Albert Lea School District to help build an inclusive and welcoming community.
