Residents want answers from city

This is a letter in response to Kathy Diaz’s letters that she has been faithfully writing to the editor. I want her to know that myself, along with many others in this town, agree with everything she says regarding our former city manager and the issue with the city credit card and another former employee.
It was very distressing to watch our former city manager’s life being publicly ripped apart while someone else who claimed to have done the same thing that he was prosecuted for just got to walk away. I also would feel a bit better if someone would explain why this other employee did not get the same treatment that Mr. Jim Norman did?
On the flip side, why did not Mr. Norman get the same treatment that this other former employee got? Why didn’t he just get to walk away and continue on with his life? Maybe there’s an explanation, I don’t know. If there is, a lot of people in this town would sure like to hear it, and I think we deserve to.
To me, this whole situation is just totally unbelievable, and, in my own personal opinion, I have never witnessed such injustice in this town and I have lived here most of my life. Either prosecute everyone involved or let everyone go on with their lives. I do not feel that Mr. Norman was treated fairly and will hold this opinion until I get an explanation as to why one person was prosecuted and another just got to go on like nothing happened.
