You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
Crime Victims Crisis Center: Be part of the Freeborn County Crisis Response Team. Members are available to help area residents who have faced a disaster. The training series of three sessions runs Monday nights, Sept. 12 through Nov. 14. To get an application form and apply now, contact Michelle French at 377-5464 to help neighbors in distress. No degree or experience necessary.
Reading Partners: When school resumes, children will again need adults to help them improve their reading skills for increased success this school year. Training is provided in early September so you just need a love of reading and a concern for children. Partner for a half hour or two a week to help a child gain skill and confidence as a reader. Call Pat at 377-7433 to make a difference, one child at a time.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
