Albert Lea records first frost

Some people who left their cars outside Wednesday night had to scrape the frost off their windows this morning.
Thanks to a chilly wind on Wednesday and clear skies going into the night, the air temperature in Albert Lea hit freezing this morning. The mark of 32 degrees was first reached around 6 a.m. By 6:30 a.m., it was down to 30.
The temperature had been 43 degrees around 10 p.m. Wednesday. It reached 34 degrees around 3 a.m.
Sunshine today should warm the Albert Lea area up to a balmy 57 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
The weather service had a freeze warning in effect overnight for much of southern, central and western Minnesota.
