Be sure to stop at stop signs

I wanted to write regarding the driving habits I’ve seen around town. This is to all the grandparents, parents and kids out there driving. Have you ever watched someone roll through a stop sign?
According to the dictionary stop means to arrest the progress of motion. In simple terms it means to halt forward movement. A slow roll through a sign is not a stop. I’ve seen all ages do it. I’ve even seen police officers do it. And when you’re behind a vehicle that stops at a stop sign, that does not mean that you can pull ahead and go because you stopped behind the other guy. It just means it’s your turn to stop.
These kinds of lazy driving habits are the kind of things that cause stupid accidents. Parents, your children are watching you. Watch what you’re teaching them while you’re driving. And to all those with stereos you can hear coming a block away because of the bass, please turn them down. Some day you’re going to miss a siren because you have too much going on behind you in the car. And try to show the rest of the human population that you can be sensitive to other people’s needs.
