People interested in voting for the 2011 Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce ornament can do so through Sept. 29.
Voters can access the entries online through the chamber website or in person at the chamber office at the Northbridge Mall.
Tami Jensen, operations manager, said 29 photos from area residents were submitted for the contest this year, which is more than in previous years.
Entries span all four seasons in the area, and include photos ranging from winter scenes on Fountain Lake and in parks to flower gardens and even the Freeborn County Courthouse.
She thanked everyone who submitted a photograph and encouraged people to vote for their favorite.
The winner will be announced by Oct. 5 and will receive a gift basket with items from area businesses.
Previous winning photos have included the fountains on Fountain Lake in 2004, the Fountain Lake Park gazebo in 2005, Albert Lea Lake in 2006, downtown Albert Lea in 2007, the trail near the Brookside boat landing in 2008, Katherine Island in the winter in 2009 and Hatch Bridge in 2010.
This is the eighth year for the ornament contest.
In addition to the ornament, Jensen said this year the top 12 photos will be made into a calendar that will be for sale for $10. If interested in purchasing one, people need to call the chamber office to order a calendar by mid-October. The chamber will only order the number requested.
Calendars and ornaments will be ready mid-November.
Ornaments are $6.
To view the entries go to www.albertlea.org. There will be a link to the ornaments on the main page.
