Mayo Clinic awards 2 scholarships to students pursuing health care careers

Mayo Clinic Health System recently awarded two $750 scholarships to students in its service area who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or technical school and pursuing a career in health care.
Recipients of the scholarships are Ashley Thrond, of Kiester, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Winona State University and Andrea Linder, of Easton, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Viterbo University.
Two additional $750 scholarships were awarded to non-traditional students who are pursuing post-secondary education in a health care field five or more years after completing high school or receiving a GED.
Recipients of the non-traditional scholarships are Kristie Smith, of Lake Mills, pursuing a MBA with emphasis on health care at Augsburg and Devona Maher, of Northwood, pursuing a degree in physical therapy at North Iowa Area Community College.
